Cookies policy
Last updated: 18 August 2026
This policy explains how Trade Vehicle Parts uses cookies and similar technologies on tradevehicleparts.co.uk, what they do, and how you can control them. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your personal information more generally.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They let the site remember things like what is in your basket, keep you signed in, and help us understand how the site is being used. We also use similar technologies such as pixels, tags and local storage, and we refer to all of these as “cookies” in this policy.
How we use cookies
We group the cookies we use into four categories.
1. Strictly necessary cookies
These are required for the website to work. They handle things like adding items to your basket, moving securely through checkout, signing in to your account, and protecting against fraud. The site cannot function without them, so they are always active and do not require your consent.
These are set mainly by Shopify, which hosts our store.
2. Functional cookies
These remember choices you make so the site behaves the way you expect — for example your saved vehicle, your region, or your cookie preferences themselves.
3. Analytics and performance cookies
These help us understand how visitors find and use the site, which pages are popular, and where people run into problems, so we can improve it. Some of these tools record how you move around a page, including clicks and scrolling.
These are set by services including Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity.
4. Marketing and advertising cookies
These are used to measure how our advertising performs and to show you relevant adverts on other websites and social media. They may build a profile of your interests based on your browsing.
These are set by services including Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising, TikTok and Klaviyo.
Third parties who set cookies on our site
Some cookies are set by other companies whose services we use. Those companies handle the data they collect under their own privacy policies. The main ones are:
- Shopify — hosts our store and handles checkout and payments.
- Google — Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics and Google Ads, for measurement and advertising.
- Microsoft — Microsoft Clarity for understanding site usage, and Microsoft Advertising for advertising measurement.
- TikTok — advertising measurement.
- Klaviyo — email marketing and sign-up forms.
The exact set of services can change as we add or remove tools. Our cookie banner always shows the current list, broken down by category.
Your choices
When you first visit the site you are asked which categories of cookies you accept. Strictly necessary cookies are always on. Everything else is your choice, and choosing not to accept them will not stop you from browsing or buying.
You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie Preferences link in the footer of every page. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it, and takes effect straight away.
You can also control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting them. Be aware that blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop parts of the site, including checkout, from working properly. Guidance for each browser is available in its help pages, and you can find general information at aboutcookies.org.
Do Not Track
Some browsers can send a “Do Not Track” signal. There is currently no agreed industry standard for how sites should respond to it, so we do not change our behaviour based on that signal. You can control cookies using the options above instead.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the tools we use or to the law. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page.
